Plasma is the fourth aggregate state of matter. The three basic aggregate states of matter are solid, liquid and gas. The principle involves the ionization of gases from atmospheric air under the action of a micro-electric arc causing the formation of a focused plasma beam that leads to the sublimation (transfer of a substance from a solid to a gaseous state without liquid interconnection) of the surface layer of the skin.

The treatment is based on making a series of miniature dots placed in a specific pattern with minimum spacing on the selected part of the face or body. This process triggers the contraction and tightening of collagen fibres, resulting in lifting, remodelling and rejuvenation effects.

PhiIon can be used effectively for non-surgical blepharoplasty (eye lift), non-surgical neck lift, wrinkles and fine lines anywhere on the face. It is also effective for scar reduction, including acne scars, removal of benign lesions such as moles, warts, papillomas (skin tags), fibroma, keratosis, milia (white heads), liver spots (sun spots). Excellent results are given in combination with microneedling treatment. 

Before the treatment, a local anaesthetic in the form of a cream is applied, so that pain during the performed treatment is minimized. It is usually painless or mildly uncomfortable.

Depending on the region being treated and size of the region, the average treatment duration is 1 hour, plus 30 minutes with anaesthesia. We will tell you the expected treatment time during your consultation.

The number of treatments is individual and depends on the treated region and current condition of the skin. One treatment can have great results and is very often enough. If it’s necessary to repeat treatment, it is recommended after 3-4 months (depending on the area being treated)

Treatment can be performed as soon as loose skin begins to appear and it’s recommended that treatment is done sooner rather than waiting for condition to get worse. Plasma treatments are great for both men and women.

After treatment, there is swelling and redness visible with tiny red dots.

Swelling last 2-3 days. Tiny red dots become dry and form tiny crusts, which are shed from the skin surface within 7 days after treatment. After that new, rejuvenated skin is slightly pink for the next couple of days. 

In most cases, results are visible straight away. The final results can be seen after the skin rejuvenation process has been completed.

Under the force of gravity and natural ageing, the results will last about 9 months (for eye lift or wrinkle reduction). With a series of treatments excessive skin can be minimised, resulting in longer-term benefits that may last for several years.
